Stone, Light & Ritual

A bathroom designed around material, restraint, and everyday calm.

This project explored how a bathroom could feel grounding, tactile, and restorative

through carefully considered materials and restrained design decisions.

Natural textures, muted tones, and sculptural forms were used to create a space that feels

calm rather than performative - quiet in atmosphere, yet rich in detail.

Wherever possible, salvaged and responsibly sourced elements were incorporated to bring

depth, longevity, and a stronger connection to material.

Process & Material Story

This project was approached with an emphasis on simplicity, craftsmanship, and material integrity.

Rather than relying on excessive finishes or decorative gestures, the design focused on fewer, more intentional elements - allowing texture, proportion, and natural variation to become the defining features of the space.

The carved stone sink became the visual and tactile anchor of the room, selected for its raw character and sense of permanence.

Throughout the process, salvaged and thoughtfully sourced materials were prioritized wherever possible, reinforcing the studio’s commitment to sustainability and longevity.

Atmosphere & Ritual

The experience of a space lives in movement, texture, light, and sound - not only in still images.

The most meaningful spaces are not designed dimply to be photographed, but to be lived in.

This project reflects Powder House Design’s belief that interiors should support well-being through

thoughtful material choices, intentional restraint, and spaces that grow more beautiful with time.
